Meet Janice Rutherford

Being at ease in one’s life is challenging. Being at ease in our body means freedom of movement without pain; comfort while sitting, standing and walking; fuller breath; relaxed vision; better sleep; and the opportunity to develop a quiet mind and focus on our chosen work.

I have 20 years experience as a body therapist, helping people resolve pain from joint/muscle misalignment and from strain, accident, injury, and anxiety. The techniques I use are gentle and effective. In addition, I teach clients how to maintain the benefits of session work through self massage and self care.

A major focus in my work is foot structure. Proper foot alignment and use are pivotal to maintaining balance in the rest of the body.

Before starting my bodywork practice in 1989, I conducted physiological research at Northwestern Medical School and the veterinary and medical schools of the University of Illinois for twelve years. This research was directed toward understanding integrative systems within the body and focused primarily on the respiratory and endocrine systems.

I am Nationally Certified in Massage Therapy and Bodywork, a Registered Practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy® and a member of the American Massage Therapy Association. I have previously been an instructor of Yamuna Body Rolling® and taught classes of Yamuna Foot Fitness as well as body rolling. I hold a Masters Degree in Biology from DePaul University.
